About Alice Stories Handmade Jewellery

Alice Stories is the wonderful world of bespoke designer handmade jewellery.

Alice Letts is the designer and creative director at Alice Stories.  The jewellery collection at Alice Stories is hand made with great care and attention.

We specialise in genuine pearls and semi-precious gemstones.  Alice Stories Handmade Jewellery offers four collections for Spring 2012 as follows:

1. Princess Collection;
2. South Pacific Collection;
3. Carousel Collection; and
4. Men’s Unisex Collection.

Princess Collection

Pieces of genuine gemstones and genuine pearls feature heavily in our Princess Collection.

South Pacific Collection

In our South Pacific collection we feature Paua shell (Abalone), Mother of Pearl and other shell pieces.

Men's Unisex Collection

In our Men’s Unisex collection we feature wood beads and bone carving pendants.

Carousel Collection

We endeavour to cater to all budgets and for this reason we have created the Carousel collection that contains pieces made with plastic and acrylic that are by definition more affordable pieces.  You will find many pieces of jewellery that are one  of a kind.  Our collection incorporates upcycled vintage pieces to add individualism and uniqueness to your piece. You won’t bump into another person wearing the same item.  Isn’t that a relief!

Message from Alice

It is a great pleasure and privilege to see women and girls take delight in wearing my  handmade pieces of jewellery.  I first began designing and creating jewellery two decades ago.  My first piece was a key ring I made for my parents when I was in metal work class at intermediate school.  I was mesmerized by the ability to transform the metal into our own designs.  Being able to make our own engravings was brilliant!  Then at high school I joined the embroidery club and started crotchet and threading friendship bracelets.  In the last decade I have been making jewellery utilising wire work.  I am essentially a self taught designer.  Having studied Art at school, I gained a school certificate in Art.  Although I did not major in Art at university, I continued with my passion for art by continuing with my own designs and craft work.  I also attended evening classes and short courses.  My favourite pieces to work with are sterling silver and gem stones, particularly rose quartz and pearls.

I take inspiration from nature and fashion dating back to the 1920′s.   I especially like vintage jewellery but also create some contemporary pieces as bespoke pieces on demand.  My speciality is bonboniere and custom wedding orders.

My earring collection caters for all women, with fittings for pierced ears as well as those who do not have their ears pierced.  We use gold coloured clip on earrings that have screw backs.  Our jewellery is hypo allergenic, using sterling silver findings for the shepherd hooks and studs.
